Thando Mgqolozana

ThandoTHANDO MGQOLOZANA is a Mandela Rhodes scholar, a recipient of the Golden Key International Honour for scholastic achievement and of the Mail and Guardian’s Top 200 Young South Africans. He has previously worked as a researcher at the Human Sciences Research Council and is now based at the University of Cape Town. A Man Who is Not a Man was long-listed for the International IMPAC Literary Award. It was also partially adapted into a short film, Ibhokhwe (The Goat), which won the Best Short Film and Best Director of a Short Film awards at the Independent Mzansi Short Film Festival, 2014. His latest novels are Hear me Alone, a controversial allegory of the birth of the Messiah set in an Africanized Nazareth, and Unimportance, presently enjoying critical acclaim.
